Keyboard Layout

"Wien.keylayout" is a customized German QUERTZ keyboard layout designed for software development on Macbooks. Pressing one of the option keys while typing 'd', 'f', 'j' or 'k' will give you square braces (eckige Klammern) and curly braces (Mengenklammern).


1. Download wien.keylayout and wien.icns
2. Move both files into the 'Library/Keyboard Layouts' folder located inside your home folder
3. Log out
4. Log in and open System Preferences (Systemeinstellungen),
   click 'International' (Landeseinstellungen),
   click 'Input Menu' (Tastaturmenü) and 
   select the checkbox next to 'Wienerisch'
5. Change the little flag in the right corner of your screen
6. Use the little or ring finger for pressing the option key
